I’m LUCAS LIU, a class of 2027 student at the Rhode Island School of Design pursuing a BFA in Industrial Design. I have a longstanding passion for art and design, innovation, and the ways in which design becomes a beautiful outlet of problem solving for the world.
I grew up near New York City and fell in love with the creative world by accompanying my mom to art museums, admiring the skyscrapers around me, and interacting with all sorts of day to day consumer products. My artistic journey started in the traditional mediums of drawing and painting, which were later joined by 3D modeling and 3D printing.
Now, as a student in college, I draw inspiration from all sorts of organic forms and am fascinated by the junction between aesthetics and functionality. My experiences working on and leading a variety of teams and organizations help prompt my interests in entrepreneurship and business, which open a meaningful bridge between the product and the user. I navigate my major of Industrial Design through the focused lenses of product design and brand identity, constantly excited by the dynamic worlds of consumer products and business development. I hope to make the world a better and more beautiful place with my work.
